Tukang Warisan — tukangwa

Last reviewed: March 2025

This Cookie Policy explains how Tukang Warisan ("we", "our", "the workshop") uses cookies and similar tracking technologies when you visit tukangwa. It also describes the choices available to you regarding these technologies. Please read this policy alongside our Privacy Policy and Terms & Conditions.

We operate a small, independent watch repair workshop in Kuala Lumpur. Our website is informational in nature. We do not run an online shop, and we do not collect payment details through this site. Our use of cookies reflects that straightforward purpose.

I. What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device when you visit. They allow the site to remember certain information about your session or preferences over time. Cookies cannot execute programs and do not carry viruses; they are simply a way for web software to maintain a small amount of state between page loads.

Related technologies — including local storage, session storage, and web beacons — function similarly and are covered by this policy where relevant.

II. Categories of Cookies We Use

We group cookies into four categories. The table below summarises each type and gives examples of how we or our service providers use them.

Category Purpose Can you opt out?
Strictly Necessary Enable core website functions: cookie consent state, session integrity, and security measures. Without these the site may not work as intended. No — required for basic operation.
Analytics Help us understand how visitors interact with our pages — which sections are read, how long visits last, and where visitors arrive from. We use anonymised aggregate data only. Yes — see Section V.
Functional Remember your cookie consent preference so we do not ask again on the same device, and support any language or display preferences you may set. Partially — strictly necessary subset cannot be disabled.
Marketing / Tracking We may use pixel tags from advertising platforms (e.g. Meta Pixel, Bing) to understand whether visitors who saw an advertisement later visited our site. No personally targeted advertising is served from our own pages. Yes — see Section V.

We do not use cookies to build individual profiles for direct marketing, nor do we sell cookie data to third parties.

III. First-Party and Third-Party Cookies

First-party cookies are set directly by tukangwa. These include the cookie consent preference flag and any session identifiers used by our enquiry form.

Third-party cookies may be placed by external services whose code we embed or whose scripts are loaded on our pages. Current third-party providers that may set cookies include:

  • Google Analytics / Google Tag Manager — aggregate traffic analysis. Operates under Google's own privacy framework. Google Privacy Policy ↗
  • Google Maps — the map embedded on our homepage. Google may set cookies when you interact with it.
  • Meta (Facebook) Pixel — advertising measurement only; no personal data is shared from form submissions. Meta Privacy Policy ↗
  • Microsoft Bing Ads — advertising measurement only. Microsoft Privacy Statement ↗

We endeavour to keep this list current. If a provider is added or removed, this policy will be updated within thirty days of the change.

IV. Cookie Retention Periods

Cookies remain on your device for varying lengths of time depending on their type:

Cookie / Technology Type Retention
tw_cookie_consent Functional 365 days
_ga, _ga_XXXXXX Analytics (Google) Up to 2 years
_fbp Marketing (Meta) 90 days
_uetsid, _uetvid Marketing (Bing) Up to 13 months
Session cookies Strictly Necessary Deleted when browser closes

V. Managing Your Cookie Preferences

When you first visit tukangwa, a small notice at the bottom of the page invites you to accept or decline non-essential cookies. Your choice is stored as a preference on your device. You may change that preference at any time by clicking the button below.

Reset Cookie Preferences

Pressing the button below clears your stored cookie choice. On your next page load the consent notice will appear again, giving you the opportunity to select freshly.

Browser-level controls:
You may also manage or delete cookies through your browser settings. Each browser differs; the links below point to guidance for popular browsers:

Please note: disabling certain cookies may affect the functionality of our website, particularly the contact enquiry form and consent management.

VI. Do Not Track

Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. At present there is no universally agreed standard for how websites should interpret this signal. We do not currently alter our data collection practices in response to a DNT signal, though we respect your right to use browser controls and our own consent mechanism described in Section V above.

VII. Legal Basis (PDPA 2010)

Our use of cookies that collect or process personal data is conducted in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (Malaysia). The legal bases we rely upon are:

  • Consent — for analytics and marketing cookies. You provide consent through the notice displayed on your first visit.
  • Legitimate interests — for strictly necessary cookies that are essential to deliver the service you have requested by visiting our site.

You may withdraw consent for non-essential cookies at any time using the controls described in Section V. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of any processing carried out before that point.

VIII. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the cookies we use, updates to applicable law, or improvements to how we explain our practices. When we do, we revise the "last reviewed" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to check back periodically. Continued use of our website after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

IX. Contact & Questions

If you have any questions about this Cookie Policy or wish to exercise your rights under the PDPA 2010, please get in touch with us:

We aim to respond to all written queries within ten working days.
