Bench Work
Done with Care

Tukang Warisan receives watches that need steady hands and unhurried attention. Whether the piece runs a little slow or has not moved in twenty years, each one is opened on the same bench and treated the same way — with patience, clean tools, and a written record of everything done.

Is Your Watch Due for the Bench?

Most mechanical watches benefit from a service visit every three to five years. Bring yours in — or write ahead — and the workshop will advise on the appropriate level of work before anything begins.

§ II

Common Questions

How do I know which service my watch needs?

Bring or send the watch and the workshop will assess it at no charge. A brief note is written explaining the recommended service and why. You are under no obligation to proceed. Many clients find this initial conversation useful even if they decide to wait.

What does the two-week turnaround cover?

The Standard Service opens the movement completely, cleans every part in the ultrasonic, replaces worn lubricants, regulates across five positions, and runs the piece for several days before it leaves the bench. Two weeks accounts for proper drying, observation time, and any minor adjustments after the initial regulation.

Can vintage watches be serviced here?

Yes. The Conservation Restoration service is built specifically for older pieces. The approach favours working with what is there rather than replacing it. Where original parts are unavailable, sourcing is discussed with the client before any substitution is made.

Are there any hidden costs?

No. Each service grade has a published price, and the scope is agreed in writing before work begins. If something unexpected turns up during the service — a cracked jewel, a worn cannon pinion — the workshop will contact you before proceeding with any additional work.

How should I send my watch by post?

Write to the workshop first and a packing guide will be sent to you. The recommended method uses a padded inner box, the original case or a substitute, and a tracked courier with declared value. The workshop takes responsibility from the moment the piece is received at the door.

How is privacy handled for clients?

Client details and watch records are kept in a private ledger and are not shared with any third party. Photographs taken during a restoration are used only with explicit permission. The workshop follows personal data guidelines in line with Malaysian privacy standards.
