Why This Workshop
What Distinguishes
the Bench
There are places that will replace a battery and hand the watch back in five minutes. Tukang Warisan is not one of them. The difference is in the depth of care — and what gets written down.

Formal Horological Training
Both watchmakers trained through accredited programmes. The knowledge applied to each movement is grounded in the movement's own technical documentation, not general habit.
Written Record for Every Piece
An intake card and a service record are created for each watch. Clients receive their copy at collection. The workshop holds records for seven years — useful when the same piece comes back later.
Scope Agreed Before Work Begins
Nothing is done without the client's prior agreement. If something unexpected is found during service, work pauses and the client is contacted. No surprises on the invoice.
Preservation-First Philosophy
On older pieces, the default is to preserve rather than replace. Dials are cleaned rather than refinished. Original hands and crystals are kept where condition allows. Cases are worked by stone, not wheel.
Calibre-Matched Lubrication
Different movements require different lubricants in different quantities. The workshop uses Moebius grades matched to each calibre's specification — not a general oil applied uniformly across different mechanisms.
Established Workshop Address
The same premises on Lorong Maarof since 2012. Clients who bring a watch today can be confident the workshop will be there when they collect it — and when the piece next needs attention.
Sixteen Years of Bench Work
The workshop has handled movements across most of the major Swiss and Japanese calibre families, as well as German, English, and Malaysian-market pieces. Familiarity with a broad range of ébauches means the watchmaker rarely meets a movement without prior reference for its known weaknesses and service intervals.
Training was completed in Penang and Germany before the workshop opened. Ongoing calibre study ensures methods keep pace with newer movements entering the market.
- WOSTEP-qualified master watchmaker on-site
- Experience with Swiss, Japanese, German, and English movements
- Pocket watch and dress watch calibres welcomed
- Calibre-specific technical documentation consulted for each service
Appropriate Equipment, Properly Maintained
The workshop uses an ultrasonic cleaning unit, a watchmaker's timing machine for multi-position regulation checks, and a demagnetiser as standard tools in every service. These are not luxuries — they are the minimum required to do the work honestly.
Equipment is serviced on schedule. Lubricants are kept within their stated shelf life. The bench itself is kept free of dust and magnetic interference.
- Ultrasonic cleaning for movement components
- Timing machine for five-position regulation verification
- Demagnetisation as standard on every service
- Moebius lubricants matched to each calibre
Clear Communication Throughout
Many repair experiences are frustrating because clients hear nothing until the piece is ready — or worse, until the bill is higher than expected. This workshop communicates at intake, at the assessment stage, and whenever the scope changes. A written summary travels with every piece on collection.
- Written assessment note provided before work begins
- Contact made if anything unexpected arises during service
- Itemised invoice for every standard and conservation service
- All enquiries answered within one working day
Published Prices, Honest Scope
Service grades are priced openly on the website and at the bench. The client knows what the work costs before leaving the watch. There are no handling fees, no surcharges for common calibres, and no charge for an initial assessment.
- Three service grades with published pricing
- No hidden handling or administration fees
- Initial assessment at no charge
- Extra work only undertaken with prior client agreement

What Sets This Workshop Apart
A Ledger of Every Piece
The workshop maintains a continuous written record going back to 2008. When a client brings the same watch in again years later, the previous service history is on file. This is unusual in the Malaysian repair market and practically useful for complex or recurring issues.
No Upselling Policy
If a watch needs only a battery and gasket, that is all it gets. The workshop does not recommend additional work unless it is genuinely needed, and this is explained in writing at assessment. Long-term client trust is valued above short-term revenue on each job.
Postal Intake from Across Malaysia
Clients outside Kuala Lumpur can send pieces by tracked courier. The workshop provides a packing guide on request and takes responsibility for the piece from the moment it arrives at the door. Correspondence clients receive the same level of communication as walk-in clients.
Realistic Turnaround Times
The workshop quotes turnaround times it can actually keep. Two weeks for a standard service. Six to ten weeks for conservation. These are not estimates — they reflect how long the work genuinely takes when done properly.
